Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning and development, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Participate in catering events as required, providing high-quality food service.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food handling procedures and safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience in the hotel food industry, preferably within a restaurant, banquet or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Proficient in various cooking techniques and methods of food preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
- Creative mindset with an enthusiasm for culinary arts
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring quality.
- Candidates must be willing to work a varied schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical requirements of the position include standing and/or walking for extended periods of time; bending, stooping, and reaching; pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs; and lifting up to 75 lbs.
